Why Are Teenagers So Rebellious?

Being a teenager is not easy. Growing up in teenage years is like a ride on a wild roller-coaster without the thrill. The feelings experienced internally of shifting emotions can be quite a challenge to many teenagers and most usually react by rejecting any help their parents may try to offer. Even if they know they need help. It is a time of discovery for them, to find separation from their reliance on their parents, to be an independent individual. From being one who looks up to you in everything you say, to being your enemy it seems, hating you.

At a time when you feel this way, keep in mind the following points of understanding which can help ease the situation and see you through the stormy teenage years of your kid.

Stay calm. Don't respond by rejecting her when she rejects you. That will only alienate you from your teenager further and that is the last thing you want to do to help her. Let her know that you still loves her no matter what happens and that you will always be there for her when she needs you. Do little things for her to show her that she still means a lot to you and that you still care.
