Our Missions & Inspiration ...

In my years of interacting and advising children and parents through my profession in child development and family service centre, also in raising my own child, I have discovered one parenting dilemma that arises repeatedly. This dilemma is the arduous process of deciding on the right course of action when confronted with a discipline or behavior issue.

In my conversations with parents, one common question always raise; “What do I do when my child …whines….throw tantrums ….hit his sister ….refuse to cooperate … ?” Parents often struggle to find the right answer and experience frustration or helplessness when that answer fails to solve the problem.

Effective Parenting 101 presents a multitude of valuable ideas every week to answer your everyday questions. We give practical suggestions on diverse topics that likely cover every parenting dilemma you’ll encounter. Children Are Like Kites ...

You spend years trying to get them off the ground.

You run with them until you are both breathless.

They crash ... they hit the roof ... you patch, comfort and assure them that someday they will fly.

Finally, they are airborne.

They need more string, and you keep letting it out.

They tug, and with each twist of the twine, there is sadness that goes with joy.

The kite becomes more distant and you know it won't be long before that beautiful creature will snap the lifeline that binds you together, and will soar as meant to soar .... free and alone.

Only then do you know that you have done your job.
