Releasing Your Child's Learning Potential (Part 2)

Continuation of my sharing from my earlier post
on 29th Sept 2007

Our young child is learning something new everyday. Sharing the pleasure of early learning with our child is always very exciting and fulfilling, even the simplest activities can be used to introduce new concepts. Remember, developing confidence in your child whether with numbers, logical skills or language will give our child a real head-start for school and adult life. The guiding principle is always that the child must enjoy the activities he plays. Always be guided by the child’s preference. If he is bored or if he finds it too difficult, change or modify the activity. Never force the child to “play” for his own good.

Some reminders as you play with your child:

NEVER discourage a child. NEVER tell a child he is wrong, just show him the right way. ALWAYS encourage the child. ALWAYS congratulate and cheers the child when he has made a progress or complete the activity. ALWAYS be attentive to the child’s preference.

Play with your child and watch him learn day by day. You’ll be glad to participate in his learning and discovery adventures. HAVE FUN!
